Match Preview | Summertown Casuals

Barnes haven’t played league football for two weeks now but will look to continue their form against Summertown Casuals this week.

A lot of players available this week meant changes were needed and after last week’s postponement, picking the squad isn’t easy stated the gaffer. “After a disappointing last minute match postponement against South West Athletic FC last week due to waterlogged pitches, it seemed the whole club wanted to get back out there this weekend and play some football! Unfortunately there is a squad size limit and myself and assistant manager Ash have had to make some big calls on selection this week.”

Jacko beloved he has a strong enough side this week to come away with the points and wants the good form to continue. “That said, the squad we have assembled is a strong one and it's far nicer from a management perspective to have alot of talent to choose from than too little. From the players' perspective I know there will be disappointment, determination to win back there spot but also support and encouragement for the teammates who have been picked. I'm sure the squad we have selected will work hard to vindicate their selection too!”

While the opposition haven’t had the best of starts it is only early door and Tom don’t want the tram getting complacent. “Summerstown Casual FC are new to the league this season and haven't had the best of starts but that doesn't mean we will be underestimating them. They seem to be a solid little outfit and don't concede easily so we'll really need to work hard to break them down and create chances that will lead to goals.”

However the gaffer is looking forward to it “It promises to be an exciting match with a debut for our new goalkeeper as we hope this new signing can had solidity to the back and further strengthen our defensive record.”
