Match Preview | Charlton Invicta FC vs Barnes Stormers FC

barnesstormers1

With no league game scheduled this Sunday, Barnes Stormers FC found themselves a late friendly match for an away trip to Charlton Invicta FC.

After an early start to the season and then a week off football to celebrate the engagement of Assistant Manager Harry Cooper, the Stormers were keen to play some football to prevent a fortnight without a game that may have let a few players rest on their laurels a little too much.

In a first-ever clash between the two clubs in an 11 a side format, newly formed management duo Tom Jackson and Harry Cooper are keen for the lads to focus on getting game time after the week off. "This is going to be a really big fitness test on a big 3G pitch on an away day against an unknown opposition. It should be a great challenge for us that we'll take on head-on" asserted Cooper.

Jacko was thrilled to see the return of some big names to the team sheet this week, "We're welcoming back a number of faces after a long Summer break and a few injuries. It's great to see the likes of Kai and Nuno return to lead the attack upfront whilst our midfield will be bolstered by the return of Joan, Joseph and Mo and we're also welcoming back Lleyton after a injury plagued off-season," said Jacko, "This is really going to be a great game to give everyone some good game time before we resume the league next week and I'm really looking foward to seeing the returning guys making an impact on the pitch as they seek to cement their position in the squad after some time out".

With a fit and competitive squad available, it's going to be interesting to see who the management duo select to start on Sunday and the first time clash between these two clubs will be even more thrilling to watch - come on you Stormers!
