Match Review | Barnes 6 Olympique Mayonnaise 3

Barnes took their chances this week after running out 6-3 winners against Olympique Mayonnaise to gain 4 points from their first possible 6.

The visitors took the lead when a well worked set piece routine found an open man in the box who was able to volley home from 12 yards to give them a lead after Barnes had multiple chances to take the lead before.

But Barnes instantly replied with Nuno Nunes as he was played through and couldn’t miss from close range, all level again and momentum was building in the Barnes camp and we were in front thanks to Nuno Nunes after a fantastic ball from Abdul, dominance was showing and Barnes looked to close this one off.

A good first half from Barnes and a good response after going a goal down. A strong start was needed in the second half for Barnes to seal this game off.

Barnes starting strong again and made it 3 not long after the restart after Harry’s long throw in caused trouble and the opposition defender saw his header end up in his own net.

And it was 4 not long after Harry’s corner caused a goal mouth scramble and Nuno was able to complete his hattrick after his close range effort was too strong and too powerful for the keeper.

Barnes being Barnes we couldn’t do it the easy way and two quick goals from the opposition from mistakes of our own caused it to be nervy for the next few minutes and cause us to come out and attack and consolidate our win.

However we went and ensured the win after Harry took aim on the left and beat the keeper at the far post, 2 goal lead restored and 3 points looking likely, and all was wrapped up when Harry’s corner evaded everyone for his second of the game beating the keeper and getting in the end a comfortable 6-3 win.
