Match Review | Barnes 1 Syndicate 2

Barnes were left to rue their missed chances as Syndicate took a narrow win in pre season with a late winner.

Barnes saw the majority of the ball and had a number of chances but they were made to pay when Syndicates only two shots on target ended up in the back of the net.

A fast start could have had Barnes ahead early on through chances from Harry and Abdul but it was the visitors who took the lead just on the stroke of the drinks break when a misplaced past allowed Syndicate to break through on goal and open the scoring.

Continuing to create chances, James could have scored twice when he found some space in the 18 yard box but it ended up very easy for the keeper.

Still dominating the game the visitors were doing well at shutting everything that came their way down early and trying to catch Barnes on the break, The hosts 1 up and the half.

An improved 3rd quarter saw Barnes draw level when Lleytons free kick was met by the head of Ben who steered his header past the keeper and into the back of the net, a small reward for what had been coming.

The momentum built and Barnes could have easily had more when corners and throw ins were just missed or just needed that connection to steer goal bound and it looked like it was only a matter of time before Barnes took the lead.

However it was the visitors who regained the lead When a brilliant counter attack left them 3 on 1 and then the goalkeeper to beat. 6 minutes to go and Barnes saw themselves behind again.

The next 6 minutes was corner after corner as Barnes flooded the box but Syndicate stood strong and held on for the win.
