Match Preview | Syndicate FC

Barnes look to bounce back this weekend against Syndicate FC after a tough lesson last weekend against Junction Elite 2nds.

The gaffer wants to put last weeks performance behind them and focus ahead onto what will be a good test to see what level his side are at as they face an opponent who they will meet in their league next season.

With 1 win and 1 defeat in pre season so far and 4 games to go including a midweek fixture this pre season will help shape the squad going into that first fixture of the season of the 6th of September.

Tom Jackson spoke to Barnes and wants all focus on Syndicate “After a last minute cancellation and stand in oppo from a higher division in pre season week 2, I'm taking the boys into week 3 against a familiar side. Having played them in 2019/2020 pre season, we know Syndicate are a well drilled team and will be tough to beat.”

Jacko was proud of the work ethic and desire on Tuesday as the lads knuckled down for Sunday. “A focused training session on Tuesday helped prepare us well and it was encouraging to see so many of the lads preparing for the match so well.”

With a lot of lads returning this week, the gaffer is looking forward to getting them involved. “On Sunday we'll be welcoming back James Bateman from long term injury, Ben from his work hiatus and Rhys who was gallivanting in Italy. Really looking forward to seeing what these 3 players can do to impose themselves on the opposition and stake a claim for aa starting spot.”

The heat has been a big factor over the first two, Jacko wouldn’t mind some rain it’s fair to say “I'm hoping for a bit more rain to soften the pitch and let the grass grow in time for a match on Sunday that I'm hoping will end in win.”
