South West Athletic FC host Barnes Stormers at their mutual home pitch, Barn Elms Sports Centre in this West London Derby match.
South West Athletic currently sit mid-table in League 7 having played 4 more games than the Stormers and on the back of a good run of form having won 3 of their last 5 games. Barnes on the other hand are looking to kick on and add more points to this season's tally.
"I'm looking for a big response from the lads after a close loss to Olympique Mayonnaise in our previous game." said manager Tom Jackson. "Got a good number of the lads from that game available again plus a few faces returning for a run out. Potentially even a couple of new signings in Dawid and Charlie."
An exciting prospect to see Dawid and Charlie return to the squad having been signed with the club in previous seasons and making their impact. "I think Dawid maybe only played in one previous league fixture and a few pre-season friendlies in his previous stint at the club whilst Charlie was once on our books before taking a coaching role at SCR. It'll be great to get them back down and on the pitch as and when they are available" said Jacko.
Joint club top goal scorers, midfielder Liam and centre half Mo, will both be looking to leave their mark and try to grab more goals to add to their individual tallies but more importantly, the clubs'. Barnes need to add goals to their performance in this game having lost Nuno Nunes to League 2 club FC Club Vale. With both top scorers on the pitch and with the return of James up top, it's a prospect that manager Jacko is looking forward to, "I can't wait to get this squad out on the pitch and playing on Sunday. We've got a really good attacking threat, especially with James back in the frame. He's a real work horse and I'm looking forward to seeing him take the sloth's defence on!"
Of course, this is all assuming that the game goes ahead given the latest adivce regarding the covid-19 pandemic, we await a league statement and hopefully reassurance that our matches may be played.
