Manager Tom Jackson reflected on his sides win as Barnes kicked off pre season with a 3-1 win over UBLCFC
“We lined up against an opposition who compete in the division above in the SSFL and came away with a 3-1 victory. Absolutely delighted for the club and I couldn't be happier with the result and the fact we kicked off pre-season with a win against superior opposition.“
“For me as manager, there was an awful lot to take away, both positive and negative. Our new signings looked like strong additions to the squad both in defence and attack. New signing George Fry got a brace on his debut and Harry Cooper who we retained from last season added to the tally with some good team play in the lead up to all three goals.”
“That said, we do need to work on a few things in training this week to build on in readiness for next week's match. I'll be reviewing the video footage of the game to pick up on individual improvement points but winning and keeping the ball for longer will be the main focus.”
“We go in to training on Tuesday knowing that we have played just one pre season game and that first win means nothing if we can't build on the performance, improve and make winning a habit.”
